Holistic Treatment Starts Here

The path to healing isn’t linear, and the destination is rarely reached simply by filling a prescription. That’s why I take a whole-person approach to care, one that considers your history, lifestyle, relationship dynamics, and the root causes of your emotional distress.

There is a better way. My holistic strategies blend the precision of psychiatry with supportive practices of functional medicine—an approach that will empower you to take control, heal, grow, and thrive.

Holistic Treatment That Considers the Whole You

I rely on medical research to inform how I diagnose and treat patients. But I also know there are times when other perspectives have something valuable to offer. That’s where a holistic mindset comes into play.

A holistic approach simply means moving beyond a checklist of symptoms and considering the whole you. To do it, we’ll explore questions like:

  • What’s going on in your mind and body?
  • What do your relationship dynamics look like?
  • How do you handle stress?
  • What does your diet look like?
  • How do you feel about your day-to-day life?

The answers to these questions often reveal deeper patterns—whether you’re experiencing a misalignment between the body and mind, an unresolved trauma, or unconscious behaviors that are no longer serving you.

I don’t treat these symptoms in isolation. Instead, I use a holistic approach that addresses both body and mind, and when appropriate, invite collaboration with a trusted functional or naturopathic practitioner.

I lean into functional and naturopathic practices not only because they can be effective, but also because they complement psychiatry. And when a case calls for more specialized care, I refer patients to a trusted provider and stay involved in the process.

What to Expect From a Holistic Approach to Treatment

I do not take it for granted that many patients are new to psychiatry and holistic strategies and may have questions about what to expect from our sessions.

Everything I do begins with curiosity. No judgment. No preconceived treatment plan.

In our early sessions, we will take the time to explore your history, relationships, and family dynamics—key experiences that shape how you see yourself and experience the world.

These discussions generally uncover patterns. Together, we’ll decide which are helping or holding you back. From there, we’ll design strategies that bring clarity, help you set boundaries, and reinforce lasting wellness.

Holistic treatment is by no means a one-size-fits-all process. Everything we do is done on your terms and at your pace. It’s a collaborative journey, and I look forward to helping you along the way.

Who Benefits From a Holistic Treatment?

I strongly believe that holistic strategies can benefit everyone. But it is especially useful for patients who are ready to move beyond quick fixes and understand the whys behind their mental health conditions.

In general, I recommend holistic treatments for patients who:

  • Have tried multiple medications without finding lasting relief
  • Want to reduce medication dependency, if possible
  • Suspect there may be underlying factors influencing their mental health—whether it's a hormone imbalance, chronic stress, nutrition deficiencies, or gut health issues
  • Struggle with setting boundaries
  • Feel emotionally drained by relationships, work, or their daily lives
  • Are curious, determined, and want to uncover destructive patterns

By uncovering the root causes of distress, we can often reduce the need for more intensive interventions. And if medication remains part of your healing plan, rest assured that our strategies will support and enhance its effectiveness.

Small Changes, Big Shifts:

Holistic Treatment Outcomes

Often, when patients learn more about holistic strategies, something clicks. Whole-person care makes sense because it supports the mind, body, and daily experience together.

Once patients begin holistic treatment, many notice improvements quickly, such as:

  • Better sleep and more consistent rest
  • Increased energy and improved daily functioning
  • Greater emotional presence and steadier mood
  • Healthier eating patterns that come naturally
  • Fewer stress-driven reactions in daily life

These changes can also reduce medication needs over time. That often means:

  • Fewer side effects
  • A stronger sense of agency
  • More control over your wellbeing

It’s not just about managing mental health challenges. It’s about taking back control and building a life that feels authentically yours.

My Approach to Holistic Treatment

My goal is simple: to move beyond symptom management and help my patients achieve the best version of themselves that they can.

That means treating psychiatric conditions when they arise, but also recognizing that healing requires more than symptom management. It’s about uncovering hidden thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. Only then will you find the clarity and alignment you need to thrive.

But why do patients trust me?

It’s not just because I have experience. It’s because I don’t claim to have all the answers. Knowing that keeps me compassionate, grounded, and curious. And if your needs extend beyond my scope of expertise, I will collaborate with a provider who can fill in the gap.

These are my core values—and you can expect me to live them every time we meet.

Ready to Take the First Step?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a deeper understanding of your mental health challenges, let’s talk. Together, we’ll clarify what’s going on and what comes next.

Insurance Information

My private practice operates outside insurance networks, allowing for longer appointments and highly individualized care.

For patients with PPO insurance, partial reimbursement is often possible. I also provide superbills (itemized receipts) that can be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement.

If you have questions about coverage or reimbursement, I’m happy to walk you through the process.
