Psychopharmacology Treatment

Maybe you’ve been on medications that didn’t work or made things worse. Or maybe you’ve never tried medication but wonder if it might finally offer some relief. If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

I take a collaborative, science-based approach to medication care—one that respects your lived experience and puts you in control of your recovery journey.

An Evidence-Based Approach to Medication Care

Medication can be incredibly helpful, but only when it’s prescribed thoughtfully and informed by a real understanding of the person behind the symptoms.

For me, that means taking the time to understand your story, your symptoms, and your goals. It means weighing risks and benefits together so you’re never left guessing or feeling out of control. And also it means designing a plan that works in real life, not just in theory.

What to Expect From Personalized Medication Care

A Thorough Review

We’ll begin by exploring your full treatment history: what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how you’ve responded to medications in the past. We’ll also talk about your current symptoms, concerns, lifestyle, and goals.

Exploring Your Options

Once we have a clear picture, I’ll walk you through a comprehensive list of potential medications. We’ll talk about benefits, risks, side effects, and what makes the most sense.

Careful, Gradual Testing

If we decide to move forward with medication, we’ll start low and continuously monitor your progress. My goal? To find the Minimum Effective Dose (MED)—the smallest dose that helps, with the fewest side effects.

Open, Ongoing Collaboration

Your voice matters. Together, we’ll make informed decisions based on science, your preferences, and your lived experience.

Respect for Your Autonomy

Some patients have mixed feelings about taking medication. That’s okay, and we’ll talk about it. I take your values seriously and support your ability to make choices that feel right for you.

Why You Might Need Psychopharmacology Services

There are many reasons people consider psychiatric medications….and just as many reasons they feel unsure about where to start. Whether you’re newly exploring this path or reevaluating a current regimen, here are some of the most common reasons patients reach out:

New Symptoms That May Require Support

Maybe you’ve started feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck, and nothing seems to be helping. If your symptoms are interfering with daily life, psychopharmacology may be worth considering as part of a broader treatment plan.

Your Current Meds Aren’t Working

You’ve tried medications before, but the benefits haven’t outweighed the side effects—or you’ve seen little to no improvement. In that case, it may be time for a more thoughtful, individualized approach to psychopharmacology.

You’re Exploring Alternatives

Not everyone wants to rely solely on medication. I often work with patients who are curious about interventional options like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) or holistic strategies that support healing in other ways.

You’re On Multiple Medications & Wonder Why

Some patients come to me because they are juggling multiple prescriptions, each added by a different provider. If your regimen feels overwhelming or unclear, we’ll take a step back and look at the full picture.

Patient Outcomes: What You Can Expect

A Simpler, Smarter Medication Plan

Whether we’re reducing the number of medications you take or fine-tuning dosages, the goal is the same: to create a regimen that’s effective and easy to manage.

A Plan That Starts With the End in Mind

From the very beginning, we’ll consider not only how to start psychopharmacology treatment but also when and how to stop. This proactive approach helps avoid long-term medication dependency when it’s not necessary.

Relief That’s Grounded in Evidence—Not Guesswork

You won’t be placed on a never-ending carousel of trial and error. Every decision is guided by data, your treatment history, and your input to ensure you find lasting relief.

Access to Multiple Treatment Paths

Psychopharmacology is just one treatment option. We’ll also explore whether therapy, interventional strategies, or holistic approaches could complement or even reduce your need for medication.

A Collaborative, Respectful Experience

You’re not just a patient—you’re a partner in the process. You’ll always know why a medication is being considered, and you’ll have full agency in every decision.

My Psychopharmacology Philosophy

Medication decisions should be grounded in science. But they should also be shaped by your story. I combine clinical data with an understanding of how medication fits into your life. That means asking critical questions like:

  • What is your relationship with the idea of medication itself? Does taking medication make you feel hopeful, scared, disappointed, or “broken” in some way?
  • Are there beliefs, fears, or stigmas that we should talk about?
  • Would you prefer to minimize medication use, if possible?

We’ll explore all of that together. And if there are holistic or lifestyle-based strategies that could reduce your reliance on medication, we’ll consider those too.

Ready to Take the First Step?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a deeper understanding of your mental health challenges, let’s talk. Together, we’ll clarify what’s going on and what comes next.
